Frequently Asked Questions

Setting your router to bridge mode is useful when you have a separate modem and router or want to use a mesh system. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your router via the web interface (usually via 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)
  2. Navigate to the WAN or Internet settings
  3. Select "Bridge Mode" or "Modem Only Mode"
  4. Save the settings and restart the router

Note: In bridge mode, the router functions are disabled, so you'll need a separate router. For a detailed guide with images for each router brand, see our complete bridge mode guide.

Dropping WiFi can have several causes:

  • Interference from other devices: Microwaves, cordless phones and baby monitors can disrupt your WiFi signal
  • Overloaded channel: Too many nearby routers using the same WiFi channel
  • Outdated router firmware: Updates often contain important stability improvements
  • Interference between multiple networks: If you have multiple access points that aren't properly configured

For a comprehensive solution with steps to stabilise your WiFi, see our WiFi stability guide.

This common problem can have several causes:

  • Internet provider outage: First check whether there is an outage at your provider
  • Incorrect DNS settings: Try changing the DNS server to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
  • IP address conflicts: Restart your router to assign new IP addresses
  • Outdated network drivers: Update the network drivers on your device
  • Router restrictions: Some routers block certain types of traffic

For a step-by-step plan with detailed solutions to this problem, including how to rule out each possible cause, see our comprehensive troubleshooting guide.

If your phone falls in water:

  1. Take it out of the water immediately
  2. Turn it off (don't try to charge it)
  3. Remove the battery if possible
  4. Dry the outside
  5. Place it in a bowl of rice or silica gel sachets (absorbs moisture)
  6. Wait at least 48 hours before trying to turn it on again

Important: Do not use a hairdryer – this can make the damage worse.
